Blowing for Home

This stunning palette knife painting captures the magical moment when the huntsman blows for home. Perhaps you have had the chance to hear it? I have; and there's nothing like it. The hounds gather and have a look of both sadness and relief at the prospect of heading back to their warm kennels. After a day spent chasing at full speed they earned it. The colors in this painting are magnificent. The palette knife allows full colors to shine through. Lots of loose thick impasto paint add a dimension not found with regular brushwork. 30" x 40" oil on linen. 1 and 1/2" gallery wrapped fame is painted black, no need for additional framing.
