TABERNACLE OF THE BLUES
11X17 ORIGINAL
Prints available in many sizes

If you have ever been to a real southern Juke Joint,
then you know the smell of beer deep in the wooden
floors, and the reluctant piano man who keeps
playing after last call.

I love the blues -- it is the essence of music for me.
Its all the pain of life and the hope of Gospel.

This piece is the first in a series that hopes to
capture the steaming, gritty blues on a piece
of archival paper.

"Blues is a natural fact, is something that a
fellow lives. If you don't live it you don't have it.
Young people have forgotten to cry the blues.
Now they talk and get lawyers and things."
