Purple Cow - You Say

Prints from 24 x 30 in. original oil on linen, 2018.

The title, "Purple Cow - You Say?" comes from the well-known poem by Gelett Burgess. I couldn't resist. Are they all denying they did it? Is it a cover up? Maybe they really just want a vodka and grape juice cocktail!

I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one.
Apparently Burgess grew tired of the attention his nonsense poem received and wrote this follow-up:

Ah, yes, I wrote the "Purple Cow"—
I'm Sorry, now, I wrote it;
But I can tell you Anyhow
I'll Kill you if you Quote it!

I guess nobody wants to be known as a one-trick pony - or is that cow?

So, yes, I drew the Purple Cow,
I'm very glad I did it.
But I can tell you anyhow,
These cows don't give a wit.

Original has been sold.
