Transmigration

Oil and Acrylic on Panel

Throughout history, the harvest has been a pivotal season when humans have turned to deities, such as Father Time, to ensure their welfare. A prevalent figure across many cultures, he is represented by the ouroboros, a symbol depicting a snake eating its tail that first appeared in ancient Egypt. The pumpkin embodies the fall harvest, used to nourish and sustain the village throughout the harsh winter. Mushrooms are nature’s ultimate recycler, breaking down organic matter, enriching the soil, and creating a dense nutrient-rich food for the creatures of the forest. Even the idol our ancestors beseeched to protect us illustrates how time is a never ending loop. In this endless cycle of life only the physical state of matter varies.
