Acrylic on paper, 11x14, 2023
Starved to death, after wandering unclothed and unwashed and unnoticed from barracks to barracks. An orphan, alone.
The artist has chosen what appears to be an upside-down orientation. In a review of WWII death camp photographs, one striking point is that IN DEATH THERE IS NO UP AND NO DOWN. This orientation reinforces the artist's view.
In the collection of Yad Vashem, Jerusalem.
Exhibited by the Gross-Rosen Muzeum, Rogoznica, Poland
