Sorting Sponges

Tarpon Springs in Florida is a Greek village known for their sponging industry. I had been to Tarpon many times before but had never seen someone sorting sponges before. I just had to capture that moment in paint.

This painting was awarded Honorable Mention at the Stirling Gallery "Florida Impressions" art show, 2018.
