Nichols Mine Shaft

Colored Pencil, 2020.

I was inspired to draw this building from a visit to Cripple Creek and Victor, Colorado. Little is known about the El Paso Mine, Nichols Shaft, but it still stands as a tribute to the miners that toiled and endeavored to strike it rich. While memories may have faded, the building still stands with a collapsed roof, crumbling brick siding and weathered wooden windows.
