Prologue (Sinbad of Baghdad)
In Baghdad, Sinbad the Porter, a poor man, while resting outside of the gate of a rich merchant's home, recited verses to Allah about the injustice of a world where the rich live in ease while the poor live in toil. The owner of the house was moved by the porter’s words and invited him in, and discovered that they share the same name. The rich Sinbad told the poor Sinbad how he became wealthy in the course of seven voyages.
